Taking A Moment To Reflect

Taking time is not easy, we live in a world where we consume ourselves with anything and everything. Life is all but an organized mess.  We say that could never exist but between taking 18 college credits, 18 hours of internship, and a part time job, I can say that life is crazy. I have never felt as insane in my life. Senior year of college, but what motivates you is that finish line, it's in sight. You schedule things and everything up to May is planned but after that it's another journey.  I'm so blessed by a God that knows I can't handle much more. But let me take a minute to reflect on my life this year so far. Right now I may have a crazy mess but I have friends, a boyfriend, and great professors to help me through, oh not to mention coffee.  The things that are getting me through so far are friends, family, boyfriend, coffee, and most important God, because I wake up, try to listen to worship music, pray, start off and be led by the Spirit of God.

So far I have been at The Salvation Army Harbor Light, it's been going well. Shadowing advocates and caseworkers.  I'm working with a culture that is not my own and it's a new thing.  But it's not impossible because I have the spirit of the living God living inside of me.  I remember one day someone asked me if I swore, it was so funny because I was observing not even speaking.  I have to remember that I am set apart and different and it's not a shame, it is a glorious thing.

At North Central University (which I encourage ya'll to look into :D ) it has been great so far, supportive friends, the NCU family of professors and such.  It's good to be here. With a great generation of people searching after God's own heart.  Everyday chapel has blown my mind and challenged and encouraged me.  After going to Jesus Culture Awakening, I knew God has a huge plan for our world and it's happening, get in on this revival. It's new, it's moving and you are so welcome no matter what stage, season or wherever you are at.  At North Central we discussed revival last year, what it looked like in the past and what it can look like now.  It has only been growing in every church, every school, in the streets, through signs and wonders, and love.  But one thing that has encouraged me this year is so many people are really searching and striving to follow and experience God's presence. People have been staying after chapel services, people are still going to chapel and not dropping off. God is doing a new thing and He wants to use you, wherever you are at, young, old, new, ancient. God doesn't limit who He uses.  We are all sinners and all saved by grace.

One thing they spoke about at Jesus Culture Awakening was the need for generational togetherness or STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS. Cindy Jacobs spoke on how there have been many things started and paved for us to go after so we should jump on those.  It is just as powerful to partner as it is to start a new thing.  WE can push for stronger things if we'd share in dreams, wonders, visions with other generations.  I have noticed with many different ages standing together it is a stronger point.  You can do many things with many people, but by yourself you may last for awhile but it may end soon enough.

There are many people who have fought before us to do things, so why not join them and help them further what already has begun.  We do not need to be possessive of our dreams, we need to share, show the glory of God, and further the kingdom.  We do not get recognition for what we have done, it's not by works that we are saved so why care so much.

I want to encourage you all to take a moment to reflect on the week, a day, or even a second of something that just happened. Wisdom can be gained from many things, so journey and find the wisdom in that deep painful hole you call the pain in your life.  Being a lifelong learner and all you can do it, and learn so much.  I pray you all would have a blessed week in your walk with the Lord.
